Your notes

Merkzeug edits Markdown files in folders you choose. It has no Merkzeug account service and does not upload your notebook to a Merkzeug-operated server. Files stay in the selected location. iCloud Drive and other file providers may synchronize them according to their own settings and privacy policies.

Connections and permissions

Loading external images sends a request to the image host. External links open in your browser or another app. Editions offering Git connect to repositories you configure. Editions offering calendar meeting notes request calendar access; details you insert become part of your note. You can choose another folder or revoke calendar permission in system settings. Uninstalling Merkzeug does not remove notes stored outside its private app container.

Diagnostics and support

The app has no configured Merkzeug analytics or advertising service. Optional Apple diagnostics follow Apple's policies and your settings. Support requests are handled by our shared support service under its privacy information, including its processing, retention and assistance arrangements. Please avoid confidential notes in support requests.

This static site is hosted by GitHub Pages. We do not add analytics, advertising or cookies. GitHub processes connection data to serve and secure the site under its privacy statement.
